Q Funciona bien con iPhone? Es mucha diferencia con iWatch?
A Hola! En mi casa tenemos 3 Garmin Venu y 1 solo I watch. Todos preferimos las cualidades de Garmin. Es un excelente reloj. Y si le ingresas todos los tipos de ejercicios que haces, se vuelve cada vez mejor. Es más hasta nuestra hija de 5 años usa uno que es una maravilla de aparato. Lo súper recomiendo! Dejas de utilizar Samsung por Garmin y estamos todos contentos.
Q does the garmin gps smart watch come with a charger?
A No charger. Only a cord. A proprietary cord at that.
Q Can I replace the battery myself if it goes bad?
A No battery. Has a charger
Q How does the range and quality work if I am running outside 10 miles and the phone is home
A It stores the info on the watch when you set the activity to run and once you're done and have ended the activity it sincs itself back to the app on the phone
Q Is there a waterproof mode?
A No it doesn't have a waterproof mode that allows you to press a buttonand activates water proof Iron Man suit but you can put a ziploc bag over it and duct tape it water tight.
Q Is there a watch face that looks like old fashioned analog watch?
A Yes there are various free installable watch faces available for download. You can even have a photo of your face as your face watch background.
Q Does this come with 2 lengths of bands?
A No, just one band. I have a very small wrist and it worked for me. Two bands I purchased for the watch from other manufacturers were too big
Q Is there a setting that notifies you of text msgs without automatically displaying the text msg on the face of the watch?
A Correction of my prior answer: There is a Notification Privacy setting that is defaulted to off. You can turn that on to “Activity” or “Gesture”. I think that means it wouldn’t display the message with your wrist gesture but you would have to choose instead to go to the notification widget on the watch to see part to all of a notification.
Q Will a watch band with a magnetic clasp affect the sensors?
A I don't believe it would. Firstly, the magnet would be the thickness of your wrist away from the watch, and I doubt a clasp magnet would be strong enough to affect it either.
Q Does this have gps directions and routing capabilities? when i think garmen, i think maps. but, i dont see anything that specific in the description.
A I talked to Garmin today this does not have a built-in GPS standalone or ABC capability ... I have been searching for something that has a detailed map on my watch itself so when I'm in the woods I can map my route and see it at a glance as well as find my way out. The only series that has the actual map on the watch is the Fenix series. Many of the watches have extra apps you can download onto it for GPS but unless it's built into the unit two different companies have told me they don't work well {period} I found that out with my Fitbit {comma} I tried adding a couple different apps to show the maps on my watch itself and they don't work {period} I'm going with the Fenix five

A It doesn't, but even in those that do unless it's a certified device that data is shoddy as best and with activity unless. If you want an ECG in a watch then buy one specifically made for that, otherwise you're wasting your money on a gimmick.
Q Is the display always on like on the other Garmin watches?
A Yes you can turn on always on display.
Q How does the always on mode affect the battery life? Can you still get to ~5 days on a charge?
A No, I don’t think so, probably more like 3.

A Yes it does It separates standard calories from calories burned by activity

A Yes, in fact this watch has a pool swimming activity that tracks speed & strokes etc.
Q Does this tracker actually track steps via gps? Or is it based on wrist movement?
A Wrist movement. The battery life would be extremely poor if done by gps. However, you can set the gps to track when you start a workout (running, walking, biking etc.).
Q So how do i make calls then ?
A You can’t make calls on this watch
Q Does this watch have maps loaded to be able to navigate? Or view streets, topo maps? Etc?
A No maps on this watch
Q Can one make the clock show the hour + the minute + seconds like my cheap Casio watch?
A Yes there are plenty of analogy watch faces that you can download from the Connect IQ store. Most are free some you can purchase.
Q Is this watch fake or is it a real garmin?
A Thoroughly real- and in my opinion, more value for money than an Apple Watch!
Q Can i change the watch band on the garmin venu?
A Yes. You can replace it with other 20mm bands. None of them fit as well as the original, since the distance between the lugs is slightly greater than 20mm. Some cheaper replacement bands can easily be pulled out if you knock your watch up against something.
Q Hi I was wondering how durable the watch is. If i took a slam biking and hit the watch would it be ok?
A It’s durable, but the face is made of glass, so you would still want to be mindful of “slamming” it. I would recommend a protective layer for the face of it, there are many options on Amazon.
Q Has anyone purchased the extra 3 year warranty, if so is it worth it?
A I generally always purchase a warranty but usually only end up needing it if I break it somehow, not because of defect of the product

A Bluetooth has to be turned on at all times for messages to go through. You also need to give Garmin Connect permission to view your notifications which can be found in your phone's app permissions settings.

A It should
Q When you swim how much time you need to wait until you see your heart rate?
A It shows it constantly and it's trying to update every few seconds. It's just not super accurate.
Q How long does it take to recharge from a dead battery?
A Mine doesn't seem to take more than 40-60 min. and I get a solid 4-7 days depending on usage/brightness/alerts, etc..
Q Does the Garmin Venu´s display stay permanently on?
A Certain watch faces seem to have more trouble staying on than others. Also, the image does not stay permanently on, just the time.
Q Can I download music from my music purchased on the Apple store?
A Yes, you should be able to. I've got a Windows PC. All of the music I purchased through iTunes is listed as .mp3 files in my Music folder on my PC. From there, I plugged in my Venu watch to my PC and opened up the music folder under the Venu. I just dragged and dropped all the .mp3 files I wanted over to the Venu music folder. I then unhooked the watch from my PC, located the music on my watch, and was able to play it. Pretty quick and easy. I also have an Amazon account, so I can choose to either listen to music from Amazon or from the .mp3 files I downloaded.If your Apple music is not downloaded to your PC, you can Google how to do it. You need to have iTunes on your PC or Mac and then you have to press and hold the Shift key immediately after you open iTunes and it will allow you to create a music library on your PC.Hope this helps!

A It's very good, you also have the option of changing the background on some options.

A The watch does not have a camera and does not allow you to take a picture from your phone. Debbie with Garmin

A Yes, I get facebook messenger messages on my watch and well as text messages.
Q How is this watch different from Vivoactive 4 besides the display?
A I got the Venu over the Vivoactive 4 simply because of the display. I personally didnt see any notable differences between the two models. if you are looking for detailed differences you should compare the specs between the two. The only thing i can see a difference in is the battery life/display. Based on over a month of usage, on average i get a solid 6-7 days of regular usage.
Q Does it have golf apps and WhatsApp
A There is a golf app, but I'm not seeing one for WhatsApp.
